Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about accounts, chat, profiles, and notifications.
Account & login
- How do I create an account?
- Tap Join Ishkzen on the homepage or go to Register. Use a valid email—you will need to verify it before full access.
- I did not receive my verification email.
- Check spam and promotions folders. Wait a few minutes, then request a new code on the verify-email screen. Make sure you signed up with the correct address.
- Why was I sent to a waitlist?
- Ishkzen opens in stages. If your account is on the waitlist, you can still explore parts of the app while we review new members. You will be notified when you are approved.
- How do I log out?
- On desktop, use Logout in the top navigation. On mobile, open the menu (☰) and tap Logout at the bottom.
Chat & Dost
- How do I start a conversation?
- From Discover, open a profile and start a chat. You can also open Chats from the bottom navigation (mobile) or top bar (desktop).
- What is Dost?
- Dost is Ishkzen’s AI companion—one chat per persona. Dost can help with conversation starters, gentle check-ins, and staying grounded. Open Dost from the navigation.
- Why do messages feel delayed?
- Messages need an active connection. Check the connection indicator in Chats. If you were offline, refresh the page or reopen the chat.
Profile & discovery
- How do I edit my profile?
- Go to Profile → Edit profile. Add photos, prompts, and preferences so others can get a real sense of who you are.
- Who can see my profile?
- Approved members in discovery can see what you choose to share publicly. Sensitive biodata fields stay private unless you explicitly share them in conversation.
Notifications
- How do I turn on push notifications?
- Open Settings → Push notifications → Enable push. Your browser may ask for permission. On iPhone, install Ishkzen to your home screen first for the best experience.
- Notifications stopped working.
- Check browser or device settings to ensure Ishkzen is allowed to notify you. In Settings, try Disable push, then Enable push again.
